THE ZOO, GROOVY YARD ART is a tongue and cheek zoo that is home to information on over 25 animals. However, these animals are artistic renditions composed of various mediums. Many are crafted from some combination of metal, aluminum, and wood. As visitors walk around the art installation, information panels provide interesting facts about all of the animals, many of which have cartoon characterist

ics. A few of the features of the zoo are Harold, our resident 20 foot giraffe, as well as 12-foot tall giraffes, along with recreations of bears, roosters, elephants, horses, velociraptors, and dragons that blow smoke. Itā€™s truly a unique experience. This unusual location can be found in the Blue Ridge mountains of Georgia.

Who knows the origins of Big Boy Restaurants and its famous Mascot??

Boy restaurants began in 1936 when founder Bob Wian opened a small hamburger stand called Bob's Pantry in Glendale, California. He invented the iconic double-decker burger in 1937 and named it after a six-year-old regular customer, turning the successful local diner into a massive, multi-state franchise network.

The Mascot: A chubby, suspender-wearing customer inspired the name "Big Boy" and the famous cartoon mascot. Stop by The Groovy Zoo and check them out. We have them in XL and Small Sizes, Cast Aluminum. Awesome!

Since we just visited Venice, Italy, we thought you might like some interesting facts about Venice.

Venice is built on 118 tiny islands held up by millions of wooden logs stuck deep in the mud. The famous floating city has no cars or roads, only canals and walking paths. Everything moves by water, from police boats to garbage trucks.

Have you ever ridden on a gondala? Gondolas are asymmetrical and tilt to one side. This clever shape balances out the weight of the standing gondolier and lets the boat move in a straight line with a single oar.

Fun Fact #49 - Garden gnomes are tiny, bearded lawn figures with a wild history. They started as fierce underground spirits, turned into high-society Victorian status symbols, and are now beloved good-luck charms for yards worldwide.

Fun Fact #50 - The Groovy Zoo has lots of Garden Gnomes to choose from. Some standing, others sleeping and some "mooning" us for fun! Come check them out!
