Update: I just retired and now ready to do Vintage/Mechanical sewing machine service and repairs. There will be conditions for service. 1. Machine must be mechanical. Computerized machines I may be able to provide feedback, recommendations, etc. As I will NOT have access to factory electronic parts I can not perform repairs, even though I am trained to do so. 2. Any parts required, that I do not currently posses must be ordered by the customer. I will be happy to provide correct part numbers, but you will have to shop for best price (part + shipping). 3. Travel. I will perform in-home service local to my home or within a 10 mile radius of my home (located in Kennewick near Utah and Clearwater, for reference). Travel fee will be determined by location. 4. Fee: Minimum will be $50 (up to one hour) regardless of how long it takes to perform work (this is in addition to any travel fee), I will not charge by the hour. If I determine work is beyond a "general" service I will provide an updated figure and time to complete work, this would also include situations where parts are required and a return trip is required.
I am not looking to do this full time, this is simply for supplemental income since Social Security is not sufficient for all cost of living or unanticipated medical expenses.
Note: If I determine early on (during inspection) that I will not be able to perform the work in the 1-hr I alot, I will provide an updated fee. You will Not be responsible for the $50 as long as I determine early on I can not perform the service OR it will take significantly longer to perform the work.
Thank you!!
