These amazing ladies joined us for a trip up the Hunt trail and down the Abol trail on Katahdin. This adventure was part of their goal to hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail in each state it passes through. We couldn’t have asked for better weather!

It was a pleasure to spend three days in Baxter State Park, enjoying Chimney Pond and the surrounding area, with Kim and Rob. Katahdin put on a show for us with changing weather patterns, including temps dropping into the 30-40s and high winds, yet we were still able to visit both Blueberry Knoll and Baxter Peak during our trek! June 27-29, 2025.

Thru-hike 101. Two days of hands-on prep followed by four days in the field. We covered a variety of topics aimed at preparing these hopeful hikers for a multi-month Journey along the Appalachian Trail. This course included navigation, stream fording safety, food storage & safety, meal prep & planning, nutrition, injury avoidance & management, pace & distance estimation, pack fitting & packing, full shakedowns of each participants backpacking kit, and much more! We will have two courses in July 2026.

Join us for three days in beautiful Baxter State Park on our 3 Day: Knife Edge & Katahdin Hike! The serene and picturesque Chimney Pond Campground will be our base camp as we make our attempt. This is a fully guided trip. Six spots are available for each trip.

We have a couple spots still available on our week long thru-hiking course. This course can be taken the year prior to attempting a thru-hike or it can be the start to your 2025 southbound thru-hike attempt, as we climb Katahdin and cover the first 41 miles heading south. Come join us for a week of fun and skill building in the Maine wilderness.

Developed by successful thru-hikers, this five day course utilizes hands-on skill building in both on-site workshops and in-the-field training, to prepare you for a multi-month long distance trail.
