Even with everything happening over the past few weekends (and it has been busy!) we are still getting folks bringing their really cools classics out to our little 'town' (even in this heat!).....

We wait all year for this event and it did not disappoint! This year's Aaron Sachs Gypsy Poker Run was a huge success with over 150 participants stopping into Spencer and enjoying the updated work we have done since they were here last year, and Steph's delicious (and free!) homemade chocolate chip cookies! This was our 4th year being the 2nd stop on the poker run, and we hope to continue doing it for as long as they will have us!
After the torrential rain last night, the perfect weather today for a great motorcycle run...

While the Birthplace Festival in Springfield MO is happening this 3-day weekend, we will be OPEN if you want to stop out to check out our progress or just say 'hi'!

I know we posted the link to this article a few days ago BUT the magazines are now out - and they did a really nice piece about us and Spencer and the history of it all, even the editor did a call out on our work.
We don't do this for accolades, we do this to save history.... and the ability to meet so many wonderful folks coming through our front door both locally and from around the world, is truly the icing on the cake!

The folks at the National Trust for Historic Preservation have been great to us, as well as so many other places on Route 66. A recent article about a quick history of Spencer and the work we are doing on the old 'town'!

Aided by two National Trust grants, Ed Klein and Stephanie Cramer are reviving a piece of Historic Route 66.

It was a HOT one 🔥🔥🔥 this weekend, but we had to push forward with getting some more work done.
We want to thank EVERYONE who braved the brutal heat and humidity that stopped in to check out our progress at our place. But, we are working on remedying that within the next few weekends!

We were able to squeeze in some work in between setting up for the car show last Saturday, and then the car show, and then the heat on Sunday!
It is tough working inside of a building without A/C BUT... more on that later!

We had a PHENOMENAL turnout for our first car show hosting the Honor Flight of the Ozarks!
There were only 6 cars pre-registered and over 70 vehicles showed up with well over 100 people, and this doesn't include folks driving the route... they got a pleasant surprise pulling up and stopping and checking out all of these cool classic vehicles at our place
Now that we have our first one out of the way, it helps us prepare for the First Annual 'SPENCERFEST' on Sat Oct. 17th... more on that later!
A BIG thank you to Tom and Kathy, Chris and Marcy, Evan and Wendy and the boys and especially our guy Randy who worked the grill like a man on a mission.
And to the Wright Farm SWMO for donating baked goods for the show.
And a really heartfelt 'thank you' to all of those who came out to help us support a great cause, and to enjoy the work we have put into Spencer, up to this point!
