As our skin changes, the products we’ve used for years may no longer be working with us. In fact, some ingredients and color choices can make skin appear drier, duller, or even add years to our appearance—without us realizing it.

Here are a few of the biggest beauty mistakes I see every day in my studio.

1. Foundations That Dry Instead of Glow
Many commercial foundations and tinted SPF products are formulated for younger, oilier skin. As our skin matures, these formulas can settle into fine lines and leave the complexion looking flat.

I also pay close attention to ingredients.
Talc is commonly used as a filler and can absorb moisture, leaving mature skin looking dry and lifeless.

Bismuth oxychloride is often added to create a silky feel or subtle shimmer, but on sensitive or mature skin it can emphasize texture and create an unnatural finish.

Instead, I recommend choosing lightweight, hydrating formulas that allow your skin to look healthy, radiant, and naturally luminous.,

✨ Kristina’s Pro Tip: When shopping for foundation, check to see if there’s Talc and Bismoth in it. Plus- don’t test it on the back of your hand. Apply a small amount along your jawline + a little down your neck and step into natural light.

The right shade should seem to disappear into your skin.
