I'm not sure how to start this post, but it's time to say goodbye (as Sent-Well). I started Sent-Well in 2011, because it was a friend's birthday and at the time, my phone only gave me a 3 day notification of the upcoming event. That was not enough time to get a card, stamps, and mail it out. Thus Sent-Well was born.
I have learned SO much about starting a small business, and especially about the US Postal Service ! They may just want to hire me as a consultant lol! I have been to so many post offices, and met so many nice people there. You can ask me just about any question related to the mail, and I bet I can answer it! I even have thoughts on better post office interior design 🙂 Well, all that aside... no matter how hard I try, without changing the human powered, handwritten personalized nature of what Sent-Well truly is, I just cannot compete with AI. That, and the economy has hit some of our biggest corporate clients hardest, and they too had to make hard changes to turn the ship at their end to stay afloat. I am so proud to say we made it thru covid, without any loans etc. I was able to keep the team going and we mailed thousands of cards to veterans, nursing homes, hospitals and police departments. We made it thru when so many small businesses fell. I am so proud of that and the amazing team I had with me! We've had some major wins along the way - anytime I hit a hurdle, I just level set expectations and set out to make it happen. And, we did! We never said no, we just figured out how to get it done.
I've also met so many wonderful people, and helped folks stay personally connected to those that matter most to them. I've heard incredible stories of friendship and love. Sent-well truly was such a dream come true for me, it is so hard to say goodbye, however I know I have many thoughts and ideas swirling around in my brain and hope to combine my love of pets and art & fashion to create something new. I've started working on something called FleaMarket Pets and hope to launch it in 2025. So if you want to stay in touch, I will keep my email open for a bit longer - sentwellatgmaildotcom. Please feel free to reach out at any time! I wish all of you the very best and thank you for being a lover of handwritten cards like I am.
