🥄 A Spoon Is Just the Beginning. 🥄

What happens when you give a metalsmith an idea and a whole weekend to play? A Spoonful...and More! with visiting artist Robert Dancik is a two-day metalsmithing workshop exploring the possibilities of the spoon as both a functional object and a work of art.

You’ll learn to shape and form spoon bowls, then experiment with handles made from metal, wood, faux bone, found objects, reclaimed materials, and whatever unexpected treasures inspire you.

You’ll even learn how to create a one-piece, fold-formed spoon from a single sheet of metal, with no soldering required.

There’s something mesmerizing about watching a loom at work. 🧶

Threads lift, shuttles fly, patterns emerge, and color becomes cloth, one rhythmic movement at a time.
It’s part mathematics, part engineering, part artistry, and entirely satisfying to watch come together.

Curious about weaving? Fall classes are open for registration at Wesleyan Potters, and beginners are always welcome! Come learn the craft, find your rhythm, and see what you can create, one thread at a time.
