Meet Kia.

She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age and never let it stop her from going after her dreams. "Anything an able-bodied person can do, I can do."

Kia has lived independently since 17, working multiple jobs at a time just to keep up.

Then she joined Goodwill Keystone's workforce partnership with the PennDOT Driver License Center in Lancaster, and her life changed.

"I cried when they gave me full time. I'm able to save now and pay my bills instead of living check to check."

Stories like Kia's are why we do what we do. Every donation supports job training and employment partnerships that change lives across 22 counties in PA.

Yesterday we enjoyed walking tacos and dirty sodas with our admin team in Harrisburg, and it was every bit as good as it sounds!

But the real treat? Taking time to connect with each other and have some fun!

Did you know that our local Goodwill Keystone Area saved 51.8 million pounds of materials from ending up in landfills last year? And they recycled one million pounds of cardboard?! You could say they're a 🍃 keystone 🍃 of building sustainable communities.

“Where do you keep everything you thrift?!”
Since I bring a lot of thrift finds home every week I have to have a great organization system in place. And heads up, these rules apply to anything you want to keep organized!

1. Have a dedicated place to store overstock/overflow like the cabinets in my basement.
2. If I can’t fit anymore or can’t see everything, it’s time to purge! I make 3 piles - gift, donate, & sell at secondhandsquad.net
3. Put things back, arranging like with like and making sure everything can be seen!
4. Take donations to or your own local NONPROFIT to ensure your donations stay local!
5. Might as well pop into the thrift store to see what’s new 😉

💙 LOWER MERION, YOU SHOWED UP! 💙

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Lower Merion donation drive. The community response was nothing short of incredible.

Cars were rolling in four at a time with more pulling up just as fast as we could unload. Our truck was completely full within the first hour. While we waited for it to return, our team kept right on going, accepting every last donation until the truck returned.

When the day wrapped up, the Lower Merion community had filled 3 trucks worth of donated goods. That's a lot of second chances for a lot of great items and it wouldn't have happened without your support.
