Although there will not be a downtown trick-or-treat event this year, the Downtown Middleton Business Association and the Middleton Public Lands, Recreation and Forestry Department are offering a Halloween costume contest. Participants must snap a photo in costume at any of the StoryWalk® stops, then post photos to Instagram by Nov. 1 using the hashtag . Participants will be entered in one of four categories: Overall Best Costume; Best Homemade Costume; Best Family or Couple’s Costume; and Best Kid’s Costume. Winners will be announced on the Downtown Middleton Instagram page in early November and notified of their prizes.

The StoryWalk® in downtown Middleton begins at the Middleton Public Library and takes you on a family-fun walking and reading adventure throughout downtown.

Stop #17 brings you to Longtable Beer Cafe!

Longtable is known for an extensive well-stocked beer cooler offering beer from around the world! Paired up with delicious menu items from cheeseboards, homemade soups, famous friets, burgers and more! Your stop at Longtable will be a hit with all ages!

Start at the Middleton Public Library to pick up a free map and guide to the StoryWalk®, as well as one free copy of the book.

StoryWalk® maps are also available online at www.downtownmiddleton.com/storywalk.

Safety guidelines: Please practice social distancing during your StoryWalk®, giving others six feet of space, and follow Dane County Public Health guidelines regarding COVID-19, including wearing face coverings indoors or in crowded spaces if 5 years or older, and staying home if sick or presenting symptoms.

Today's the day! Experience the local holiday flavor of DowntownMiddleton this Small Business Saturday - wagon rides, photo opportunities with Santa, carolers, trolley rides, sales and specials, and more.

Leave the hustle of the mall behind, and spend your day with over 50 locally-owned businesses. There is also plenty of event parking at the VA lot ( 8001 Terrace Ave) with a festive trolley shuttle running every 15 minutes from 11-3 -- you'll get a fun tour of downtown and be dropped off right in the heart of all the activity.

Today! Tree Lighting 🎄in Downtown Middleton! The city has planned a lovely afternoon with so many fun activities and of course the beautiful tree lighting and a visit from Santa! 🎅🏼

Free Upcoming Special Events:
• Downtown Holiday Tree Lighting - This Saturday, November 23, starting at 2:30pm in Downtown Middleton. Horse & wagon rides, cookie decorating, crafts & games for all ages. Santa to arrive around 5:15pm to light the tree! Please go to city of Middleton page for the timeline and additional details.

And mark your calendars for this sweet event too:
• Candy Cane Hunt – Friday, December 13 from 6-7pm at Pleasant View Golf Course, 1322 Pleasant View Road. An event for children 2-10, much like an egg hunt, searching for candy canes. Bring your flashlight and dress for the weather!
