A simple formula helps me avoid getting stuck before I even begin.

When I have a clear place to start, the creative juices begin to flow—and I can skip some of that decision fatigue that makes scrapbooking feel harder than it needs to be.

My go-to layout formula:

Choose the photos
Pick a story you’re excited to tell.
Choose the paper
I like to start with one bolder pattern and one more neutral pattern.
Create embellishment clusters
Build small clusters across both pages to help everything feel connected.
Add journaling and a title
This is where the story really comes to life.
Finish with the details
A few final touches can make the whole layout feel complete.
