Florists are holiday workers. I appreciate some holidays more than others and Valentine’s Day is one of my favorites. It’s just a day to go out of your way to express your appreciation for friends and loved ones. The best thing about being a florist is seeing all the love and kindness that people extend to one another, the messages we get to write on enclosure cards often make my heart swell 💗. Thank you for your orders, and your sweet intentions. We’ll be at the shop all weekend with lots of ways to let those you love know that you appreciate them and thank you so much for sharing your love for us.

Things are beginning to show signs of life again and so are we. It’s good to remember that with all the uncertainty in the world, spring is still coming and seeds of hope can always be sown. Re-inspired after some rest, we’ll be opening the doors of the shop for the 2025 season on Saturday. This is the time of year we bring our plants indoors and turn on the heat, this changes watering requirements so I thought I’d let you in on a tip that can help you be successful nurturers of your houseplants. Generally speaking, thick stems and leaves indicate a plant that has adapted to store water in its plant body. These plants can go for weeks without water and are more likely to die of overwatering than underwatering. Alternatively, plants with thin stems and thin leaves are unable to hold much water in their plan body, these plants need to have consistently moist soil and more humid environments in order to thrive. A good way to give your plants a break and some humidity is to take them in the bathroom with you when you’re having a shower 🚿🪴💚.
