Wargaming in South Florida

Wargaming in South Florida A site devoted to discussing table top miniature war games. Originally this page was dedicated to SAGMiami, but for more than a year now it has been closed.

This page is changing to conform to the Wargaming Community in South Florida which has a rich and diverse culture and is handled by multiple locations. The best location for Miniature Wargaming, in Miami, is now Silver Dragon Tavern and Games. Farther to the north you have the GW Store and then Tate's Gaming Satellite in Coral Springs. While this page is updated and adjusted, I'll add more of the

other locations serving SoFla. Thank you to SAG for providing over 30 years of fun, comics, and games, we all hope Joel can enjoy his retirement --- and should he ever reopen SAG --- Many of us will welcome him back. But at the moment we have a wonderful location in Miami covering every aspect of this genre that we could ever hope for.

The bar construction has started!

Heads up! We are under construction building the bar!

This means until it is done our hours will be M-F 5-10. Weekends will still be based on events.

We will also not have a bathroom for a couple of days as plumbing gets worked out.

If you want to come by and pick something up or order something we are here all day. Just no playing right now until 5.

The Warhammer 40k Winter/Spring Escalation League has come to a close! And what a close it was. We've learned a lot from this league, and there's a lot being considered for the next league. If you have any input or suggestions for future leagues, drop a line because ultimately this league is for YOU!

Now, on to the part we have been waiting for. The league top 10!

In order, here are our top players!

Our winner, the champ, the numero uno, is Michael Corton and his Tyranids!

Sliding in with silver is Joseph Souchak with his Eldar!

Just squeaking into third with his Tau is Selim Castillo!

And finally, here's the rest of the top 10!

4th - Jason Hamway - Dark Eldar
5th - Peter Sierra - Blood Angels
6th - Skoll Rodriguez - Imperial Fists
7th - Tino Rodrigues (no relation) - Blood Angels
8th - Sebastion Rodriguez (some relation) - Tyranids
9th - Manny Camacho - Chaos Space Marines
10th - Joel Nunez - Chaos Space Marines

Thank you guys for your participation! Well over one hundred games were played between 19 participants since January, with the highest attendance peaking at 14 players!

For the next league, there will definitely be more structure, and hopefully, even more at stake. The leagues are the best way to learn all the tricks of an army (either your army or another!) and to get your first taste of competition and rivalry. Anyone returning from this league will have fresh challenges and fresh opportunities waiting for them!

And remember you heretics: carry the Emperor's will as your torch!

WARHAMMER 40K COMPETITIVE TOURNAMENT

June 27th is the day ordained by the fickle Gods of Chaos to show favor on those who prove worthy!!

The format is very simple:
1500 pts 7th Ed Battle-forged army list.
All current sources allowed including

Escalation
Stronghold Assault
Forgeworld

The are three rules:

1. NO PROXIES OF ANY KIND ALLOWED
This tourney is allowing you to bring anything you want, as long as you have the actual model.

The purpose is to promote the hobby and encourage you to grow your armies, not to "proxy" a model and give your opponent a bad experience. If you don't have the model, don't put it in the roster!

If you have a converted model or a "count-as", said model needs to be approved in advance by the TO (Myself Erick Moreno and those I designate). It is your responsibility to take care of this well before the deadline.

The TOs fully reserve the right to disallow any model not approved beforehand. As well as any other model the feels "disadvantageous" to your opponents under the current rule set.

2. NO 30K OR EXPERIMENTAL RULES WILL BE ALLOWED.
All models must be of current release, with printed rules available, and with a 40k stamp in the case of Forgeworld models.

No exceptions!

3. HAVE ALL OF YOUR MATERIALS READY
We can't stress it enough! You are entering a SOCIAL CONTRACT with your opponents to have fun and play a series of games, with all of these things you need to have a crystal clear transparent game with no arguments and disagreements. Having all of your pertinent rules helps us to ensure that.
All supplies needed (dice, measuring tapes, templates, rules, and army lists) are MANDATORY for this event and must be printed beforehand.

Any violation of these conditions will result in the DISQUALIFICATION of said participant.

Now to the good stuff!

The grand Prize is a complete case from Game Plus loaded with foam inserts
http://gameplusproducts.com/product/flagship-gaming-bag/

That's over $120.00 in value.

The entry fee for the tourney will be $15.00
Erick Moreno will be your TO.
Manny Camacho and Joel Fischer are your Official Organizers.
Any other TO's will be designated by myself.

The Event will use The People's Missions, courtesy of Forge the Narrative podcast!

You can find the complete set of missions in the link below

The Deadline for list submissions is Thursday the 25th at Midnight.

You can add a FoC slot of any kind to your force, or you can ad an allied detachment of 1 HQ + 1 FoC slot (unless already taken at 750). Any leftover points left can be used to purchase a fortification if you have enough points.
