ÁNGELA MARÍA ROMERO: THE QUEEN OF MAKEUP WHOLESALE
The Colombian immigrant and businesswoman shares the key to break through the competitive sales and beauty market.

Her dream began in a small apartment crammed with boxes, and today it boasts a showroom and warehouse of more than 22,000 square feet. A milestone for Ángela María Romero, an immigrant from Cali, Colombia, who, after being fired from a liquidation company, began to knock on doors selling all kinds of merchandise until she specialized in the cosmetics sector, a competitive beauty segment that is now adds the sale of facial and hair care products.
“I came to Miami in 1997, she was 27 years old and had just graduated from university. I found myself in a completely different city than the one we see today. “The Internet has really been my greatest ally when it comes to positioning ourselves. We are a family business that has managed to be a leader in the sale of wholesale and clearance products. Inspiring through example:
Being the sixth of seven siblings, Ángela María Romero recognizes that she comes from the bosom of a humble family in which the example of her mother __________ hers, was vital, forging in her perseverance and tireless work.
“My mother, may she rest in peace, was an oak tree. She had no formal education and did not work. I remember that my father left home when I was 8 years old, and despite that, she never stopped being a warrior. We never lacked anything, and that shaped me as a professional, an entrepreneur and a leader, ”said Romero, who acknowledges that she does not collapse with anything, no matter what adversity arises.
“I have stood up despite all the obstacles: pandemic, shipping problems, suppliers, etc. I always tell my team that we are still standing, and that is her example, and last year, despite the crisis, we grew more than 100%. That's why I tell women to never stop dreaming, believing, fighting and seeking financial independence so necessary to consolidate self-love and a successful life path ”, she concluded.
