Under a cold, steady moon, she kneels with her head bowed,
not because she is defeated,
but because some feelings can only be carried close to the earth.
Her dress holds a whole language of color, beadwork, and fringe,
each stitch a memory,
each pattern a thread back to the ones who taught her
how to stand, how to endure, how to keep going
even when the heart is heavy.
Behind her, the horse waits without impatience.
Its spotted coat is quiet in the dark,
its bridle catching small hints of red like embers.
It does not ask her to hurry.
It does not ask her to explain.
It simply stays.
That is the kind of loyalty that heals.
The kind that says:
I will be here when your breath steadies.
I will be here when you rise.
I will be here when the night finally loosens its grip.
The sky is wide and unforgiving,
but the moon does not judge.
It only shines, the same light
our ancestors saw
when they prayed, when they grieved, when they hoped.
May you have a place to let your sorrow rest.
May you be surrounded by love that does not demand words.
And when you feel alone in the dark,
may you remember:
even silence can be sacred,
and even tears can be a way back home.
