Good Afternoon!
The Mexia Professional Firefighter Association would like to announce the first annual Mexia Gun vs. Hoses. Softball Game feat. Public Works! This is an exciting event in an effort to boost morale amongst the city workers, their families, and the citizens of Mexia and its surrounding communities. Basic info, this will be advertised and will be opened for the public to attend.
Along with the game and its spectators, the MPFFA 5273 will provide a BBQ pit that will be serving hot dogs and sausage wraps with water. There won't be an exact charge for them, only a tip jar that all proceeds made in it will be 100% donated to Caritas in Mexia. Family and friends still feel free to bring any food and drinks to the field.
The game itself will be typical 7-inning Soft Pitch Softball Rules. Main pointers would be:
If all batters hit without 3 outs = switch sides for that inning
Unlimited HR's (some softball leagues limit HRs; we will not)
The players will be the fire department guys against the police. I believe PD may have fewer guys able to play, and that's where Public Works will come in and fill in the gaps amongst both teams.
All players and spectators must act respectfully throughout the entire event; anyone who engages in any altercation with anyone attending may be asked to leave.
