This weekend we turn 1! So I thought I’d reintroduce myself to some new faces and friends here at The Nook with some facts + backstory.🤎

How we got started:

In 2024 I gave birth to my beautiful son but the postpartum and trauma hit me really hard. For almost a year, I was on autopilot as a new mom to a baby boy who needed extra care for a condition (which has been improving!) and I finally looked at myself and realized how much my mental health destroyed me. In 2025, I turned my life around and wanted a purpose as a woman and be a role-model for my son to pursue dreams. In May we officially opened first as a book box centered shop then slowly became your all around traveling romance bookshop.

Now, in 2026, we are taking our shop to the next level and crowd funding to become a shop on wheels opposed to being a table pop up. 2026, I was pregnant with my second son, my beautiful angel, who was taken early from us which brought back the trauma to my body. After my medical leave and bereavement, I decided that the physical work I put into the shop needs to have a safer and easier solution- so we decided to put together the Kickstarter for our truck in order to help my body and amplify our shop.

Now here we are! More extra, super smutty, and welcoming to all walks of life. Aurelia’s Nook is dedicated to being as diverse and inclusive. Being an AAPI mom owned business, these values are our heart and soul along with the burning passion of my motherhood steering my dedication.

Thank you to ALL OF YOU who made Aurelia’s Nook be not only a place of business but a bookshop dedicated to community and love. Here’s to turning 1 this weekend and to many more years of The Nook.🥂📚❤️
