14 years ago today at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona. Probably my favorite day of my 38 years of triathlon. Still dealing with some serious issues from my bike crash 2+ years ago, but I WILL be back! As my friend, Jim Donaldson, reminded me: "The comeback is always stronger than the setback." My mantra today.

Thanks again to great friend, Warren Schuckies, for the pics on the course, and my amazing wife, Jodee, for her enthusiastic and unwavering support always.

What a great morning! 1. Sold this fantastic Caleb Williams autograph refractor card (Gem Mint 10 Grade) and 2. The New York Times and its sports arm, The Athletic started "an entire new department devoted to collectibles and memorabilia."We are now thinking next year we do an RV trip that encompasses numerous card shows.

One of my favorite activities each week (when I'm in town) is to attend the weekly in store auction of 50 sports cards at Hot Corner Sportscards in Mesa. Owners, Karen & Phil Rinella, put on a great show and it's a terrific community of all ages. More and more kids are coming each week, too, which is great.

Yesterday, I picked up six "fun" cards including very nice autograph cards from Gary Sheffield, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Jacob Steinmetz, the first Orthodox Jew in the MLB (he must walk to the stadium on Saturdays).

Yesterday also was "Topps National Trading Card Day," and we all got free packs of special edition cards, courtesy of Topps & Hot Corner. I was lucky enough to snag Ohtani and Elly De La Cruz cards in my pack! Just another great marketing move by Michael Rubin & Fanatics to 10X the hobby of card collecting.

We buy and sell sports cards (LOTS of sports cards) and are super excited for next weekend's bug AZ State Card Show, thanks to Cole and Collectibles on College. Any of our Boulder friends, triathletes, etc. remember the Annual July 4 party at our house? REALLY miss that - it was so much fun ... plus the Boulder Beer Mile:
When we lived in Boulder, we held an annual July 4 party in our backyard, bringing together the huge Boulder triathlon community, as well as our neighbors. In 2011, NBC sent a film crew because so many top pro triathletes would be there, many contending for the IRONMAN World Championship including Champions Chrissie Wellington, Mirinda Carfrae, Craig (CROWIE) Alexander, Timothy O'Donnell and so many other great pros and great people.

We had close to 200 guests in 2011, and while it didn't make the NBC broadcast (Thx Scott Ogle), the day was always a blast ... generally preceded by the annual Boulder Beer Mile. GREAT memory, miss Boulder on this special day, Happy 4th everyone!

From Front Office Sports: "Topps has created a trading card of Liz McGuire, the fan who took a 110 mph foul ball to the head at the Blue Jays game and stayed." Since Fanatics has taken over Topps, their creative marketing has shined through. But ... Liz McGuire - wow!!!
