Summer is the best time to dive deeper into music!!

At KC Strings, we always encourage students to continue playing their instruments and practicing throughout the summer. If you take private lessons, we highly recommend keeping those up—whether through KC Strings or with another teacher. Without regular school instruction, summer is an especially important time to stay engaged and keep progressing on your instrument.

REPAIR SPOTLIGHT!!

This 200-300 year old Viola de Gamba came into the shop for repair recently!

Working on instruments with this much history is always something special. During its recent restoration, a custom mold/frame was built specifically for the instrument to support the repair process.

After completing the repairs in the shop, this instrument is ready to be played again!

To help with your planning, we wanted to let you know that in 2 weeks on Monday, May 25th, KC Strings will be closed all day in honor of Memorial Day.

Looking for a community orchestra to join this summer?

Now it’s the adults’ turn! If you’re an adult looking to make music this summer, check out the Sunflower Ragtime Community Orchestra.

Make music with other adult amateur musicians this June and July. They meet Thursdays at Grace United Methodist Church.

Are you looking for part-time work and have experience with string instruments?

This summer, we are hiring friendly, knowledgeable help for our upcoming Rental Season which is our busiest time of year when students come in to get their school orchestra instruments.

🗓 Rental Season runs from August 15 to September 15, but we’d love to bring new team members on by the end of May so there’s time to train before the rush!

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Age - 16+
• Has experience with string instruments (violin, viola, cello, or bass)
• Can work at least 3 days a week during rental season
• Can start now or soon and stay through mid-September
