The wrong cleaner can make a hardwood floor look “clean” today… and create problems later.
Welcome to Tip #6 in our 9-part Hardwood Floor Care Do’s & Don’ts series from Capell Flooring and Interiors.
Every Saturday at 10 AM, we’re sharing one practical hardwood care tip to help Boise, Meridian, and Treasure Valley homeowners protect their floors.
Tip #6: Use the right hardwood floor cleaner.
Not every “floor cleaner” belongs on hardwood.
Some grocery-store polish products and cleaners can leave buildup, residue, haze, or a sticky film that becomes harder to fix later.
The safer habit: use a cleaner made for hardwood floors and follow the flooring manufacturer’s directions.
At Capell Flooring and Interiors, we love PALLMANN® Hardwood Floor Cleaner and offer it at our store. PALLMANN describes its ready-to-use hardwood floor cleaner as a pH-neutral, water-based, streak-free formula made for clear, unwaxed wood floor finishes, with no caustic or abrasive ingredients.
Clean the floor. Don’t coat it with the wrong stuff.
A good hardwood cleaner should help remove everyday dust and dirt without creating a residue problem that affects the finish.
Simple rule: before using any new cleaner, make sure it is appropriate for your specific hardwood floor and finish.
