In the midst of turmoil, the unknown and fear, we can become discouraged. The events around us and the news we hear, read or watch can definitely be discouraging BUT G-D! Our truth is that He is with us, His Spirit is in us and He will never leave us or fail us! Shabbat Shalom!

Believers as parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. have an awesome responsibility to teach our children the ways of G-d. I am going to date myself - but do you remember when we said the Pledge of the Allegiance before class began every morning? Or that the 10 Commandments were posted in our schools? We had afterschool Bible clubs and programs. What has happened to our nation? But more importantly what has happened to our families. Did you know that the Generation X has the highest percentage of unchurched/non-believers in our country's history? Grandparents/ great-grandparents, aunts, uncles - and hopefully parents - need to step-up! Speak to your kids about G-d, His creation, His love, His forgiveness, mercy and grace - they sure aren't going to get it from our schools, society or their friends! Pray for them and over them - bless them, encourage them! Spend time with them learning what they are learning in school, what stories are being read to them and who has visited and presented new ideas to them in their classrooms! It doesn't matter what our government says (Your children do not belong to you!) Guess what - you are responsible before G-d to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the LORD. Those of you that are doing this - May G-d mightily bless your efforts! Share this with someone with those that are not aware or need encouragement! Shalom Shalom!

Did you know that sheep can be at rest unless the world around them is at peace? We are pretty much of the same mindset. We want to be surrounded by peace - calmness- and security. How can we possibly lay down, be at peace or our soul have shalom in our world today? We watch the news, read the articles that basically tell us that the world is going to h--- in a handbasket. How can we have peace? The only way that anyone can have peace in our hectic, in our spinning out of control world is through HIM! He is our peace in the midst of the storm. Today, take a few minutes to contemplate and meditate on the fact that the world does not give us peace. HE is the one who gives peace in the middle of the storm. He is our rock, our shield, our comforter and our shalom.

This is a longer post than I usually do, but I think that it is extremely important - please let me know if it has ministered to you. Ask your self - "What would it look like for me for me to do something about the thing that you can't go a day without thinking about?" G-d is asking you to stop diminishing the gift He's given you while you might be wishing for someone else's. To stop hiding your story away believing it disqualifies you from what He has for you. G-d want you to lean into places He's calling you. And to stand in unqualified awe at the miracle it is that we get to do this with Him every single day for the rest of our lives! Let this be the year that you commit to showing up. You never know, it may be your voice that finally gets through to somebody! Your story is not a mistake! And the place where your gifts meet your story has the power to change lives. Most of all yours!
Lord, every work that you create is an original! which means that when we are standing on the spot where our gifts meet our story, every single one of us has the ability to be reflection of your love in this world that has never quite seen before. I just want to sit in that for a moment, G-d. I don't want to be moving so fast that I miss it. I have spent far too long missing it. What are you calling me to today? This should be each of our prayers! You are unique, with gifts that G-d has provided just for you - take that scary first step - you will never be able to walk on the water until you take that first step out of the boat!

In our time of trouble, we know of only one place where we are, as believers in Yeshua Mashiach - Jesus our Messiah, we can receive total and unmerited mercy and grace. This mercy and grace are not because of our standing or righteousness - but because His merit and righteousness. The world has nothing to offer us as for forgiveness or grace. We need to trust, put our faith in, the One who can change not only us but our world as well.

What is wisdom? Is it what the world tells us? The Bible tells us specifically that wisdom is from G-d! If we ask for His wisdom, we will never be let down. Wisdom leads to understanding. May we all seek wisdom and understanding as G-d sees it, not as man sees it.

Are the opinions of others more important to you? Are you trying to please your friends, those on social media, those you work with? As believers in Yeshiva as our Saviour, our goal should be to please Him! In today's world we have to make a choice. Whose servant are we God's or man?

In our crazy world today - we have the assurance that G-d will never ever leave us nor forsake us. We have a secure dwelling place, - He will hide us under His wings (His tallit)! We need to take courage knowing that it is His protection that will keep us, not what the world says is security - BUT trust in His word and we will be overcomers.

We as believers have an anchor. That anchor is the Word of G-d! Hold it close, guard it diligently - it is our shelter in the storm, our hope and promise for the future and our strength in time of need.
