Today we said an in person goodbye to our hybrid corporate interns. We wish them luck in the remaining, remote 6 weeks of their internships! Thank you, interns, for your excitement, new ideas, and putting smiles on our faces every day. We can’t wait to see what the second have of the internship holds!!

Today marks ONE MONTH until the start of our 2022 Internship Program!

We are thrilled to welcome almost 550 Interns across the country this summer! About 225 Store Interns will be located in selected stores across the country, another 20 Interns located in our e-commerce fulfillment centers nationwide, and nearly 300 Corporate Interns are gearing up for a hybrid internship experience, where most will make their way to Milwaukee to experience 4 weeks at our Corporate Headquarters and complete their final 6 weeks remotely.

So, here's to our hiring managers, campus partners, leadership team, current associates, and, finally, our incoming interns. We can't wait to spend this summer TOGETHER, no matter where we are.

Meet Mariah, Summer 2021 Merchant Intern and current full time associate 🤩

Hi everyone! My name is Mariah Clausen and I went to Iowa State University. This past summer, I had the opportunity to work as an Intern in the Men's Active Buying Office. My 10 weeks in this office was filled with projects, meetings, and networking. This role provided me with great growth both professionally and personally. I heard how great Kohl's environment is, and I can say it is truly awesome. The kindness, compassion, and willingness to help everyone shows from not only people on my team but also other interns. My favorite part of the internship was Shark Tank. You have the chance to meet interns from other offices and are given a prompt and present on it 3 days later. During those 3 days, you are able to combine everything you have learned and put it into practice for one big project. I truly could not have asked for a better summer! I was given the opportunity to return full-time upon graduation and started my role in February of this year. Since joining the team, I have felt nothing but welcomed at Kohl's and it has been great coming back after my internship. I am so lucky to be starting my career here!

What did she enjoy most about the Career Expo?

“I learned so much more than could have been learned in a classroom setting. The program gave me not only a deep dive into Kohl’s and what a great company it is, but also made me aware of the various exciting career path options within the company.

Everyone within the program was so personable, especially my mentor, Vivian. It was clear that Vivian didn’t just consider me a task on her to-do list, she truly wanted to see me succeed. Vivian was there for me every step of the way. She checked in on me frequently, answered all of my questions and made sure I was maximizing my experience within the program.”

“The networking opportunities are INCREDIBLE. As someone who didn't get to meet with a lot of recruiters from retail companies at school career fairs, this was the first time I was able to speak with actual recruiters to help get my foot in the door! Plus it's a great time to gain experience interacting with peers in a professional setting! If I had not ever participated in the Student Program, I would not be where I am today, doing a job that I had always dreamed of doing while I was in college.”
