Over the last 25 years, Whistles

top has changed, as well as our merchandise and our customers. Today we are primarily a gift store for women with a
sprinkling of Fashion, Home and Garden Décor and Antique glass & pottery. You will also find candles, lotions and collectibles such as Jim Shore, Patience Brewster, Willow Tree and Kelly Rae Roberts, just to name a few. In addition to our loyal local customers, we have lots of tourists who come back every time they are in town just to see what’s new. We currently have 2 locations, Fort Bragg and Mendocino, located 150 miles North of San Francisco on the beautiful Mendocino Coast. Both stores carry the same core product group but each store has it’s own personality even though they are only 7 miles apart. Most of our customers shop both stores and we look forward to seeing you if you are in the area. Current Product Categories:
• Fashion - Scarves, Bags and Jewelry (Pandora, Majorica Pearls and artisan jewelry made in USA)
• Home & Garden Décor – Musical Motion Clocks, Windchimes, Throws and Florals
• Antique Glass and Pottery -- mostly American
• Candles – Woodwick, Ribbon Wick, Vance Kitiera and the Spicy Apple botanical candle which has become our signature scent
• Holidays all year -- Valentines, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Patriotic, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas

To our customers…

We sold our store effective December 2022. The new owner has her own page under Whistlestop Mendocino. She has lots of the same types of merchandise as well as lots of new vendors. All the same employees are there too. Next time you’re in town, stop by and “hi”.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to delete the site and transfer/keep the pictures. There’s lots of happy memories in these posts!

Whistlestop has new owners and John and I are retiring into the sunset!!

As of Dec. 1st, Tawnya and Don Lundquist are the new owners of Whistlestop!

Many of our local customers already know them because they are “old-time locals” and actually live a couple of miles from us.

We will gradually be transitioning to a new page over the next month or so. It is Whistlestop Mendocino and is up now. Be sure to go like the page so you don’t miss anything!!

Thank heavens Tawnya’s a quick learner. She’s already getting new things in for spring and is going to the Gift show to look for more fabulous treasures. But don’t worry, you’ll still be able to find the favorites Whistlestop has become known for!! Like our musical motion clocks, Woodstock Chimes, solar globes, Michel Soaps, Solmate mismatched socks and all our sea themed items and ornaments galore!!!

So watch for upcoming posts about what’s going on!! Who knows, she may even do some posts from the Las Vegas gift show!!! Stay Tuned …

For all our Jim Shore Collectors out there, we heard you!! We used to carry this line and have finally got it back in. It’s been really difficult finding the ”special products” we’re known for without going to any shows.

Jim’s grandmother was a master quilter and you see quilt designs throughout his products. I really like his gnomes— especially the large one that would be the perfect year round centerpiece. Also his Christmas mini gnomes and Snowman are sure to be a big hit!! Not sure we’ll be able to get more in this year, so come visit us soon!!

Many of you have been following us for the last 30+ years and know we have simultaneously had three different stores — Whistlestop Antiques specializing in American glass, pottery and furniture; Season’s featuring all seasons all year long; and The Whistlestop which provides gifts and accessories for you and your home.

Over the last couple of years we have been starting to blend these stores together at The Whistlestop in Mendocino. So here’s a preview of some of the Fall & Halloween decorations that are starting to come in.

Lots of things have been happening at Whistlestop. We are finally fully staffed and the supply chain issues are getting better. We’re starting to get lots of merchandise in just in time for summer.

In Michele Design Works (our fabulous Bath and Body Line), we have lots of new scents as well as old favorites. We’ve got soaps, lotions, hand creams, candles and reed diffusers. We’ve also got their gorgeous tea towels and aprons as well as some of their melamine dishes!

We’ve also brought in more styles of Wallaroo Hats! We have many Fedoras as well as the original “Victoria” and “Sydney” with the rolled rim. All these hats are “packable” for easy travel and most are rated UPF 30 or 50 for extra protection from the Sun.

And our every popular Sol Mate Socks are adding new colors for summer and fall. Their motto is “Life’s too short for Matching Socks”. Everything’s coordinated but not matching.

We will be taking a break (Closed) from Tues. Jan 18th thru Wed. Jan 26th to do some much needed repairs to our front windows.

We had lots of leaks during the last couple of storms and need to get them fixed before the next one comes.

If it’s going to take longer, I will post an update. Otherwise, I’ll see you after Jan. 26th.
