We share a lot of pictures from Point Cabrillo Light Station, but if you head west just a couple hundred feet, there is a whole different world that we don't often get to see.

Franklin Moitoza is the Dive Research Coordinator at Cal Poly Humboldt, and regularly photographs the underwater landscapes just offshore of Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park. These waters are a State Marine Reserve, and the Cal Poly Humboldt team regularly monitors this area, capturing beautiful views like this one.

We'll be sharing more of Franklin's photos and identifying some of the creatures that live just offshore at Point Cabrillo in the coming weeks!
