After more than 60 years of serving the Memphis community, Rachel’s Flower Shop officially closed effective August 1, 2026, and we are no longer operating or accepting orders.
This is a difficult post to write because Rachel’s Flower Shop has never just been a business to us. It has been our family’s story for more than six decades.
It all began with Rachel’s parents, Pat and Mark Hammond, who started the business more than 60 years ago. Rachel grew up in the flower shop, and years later, her daughter Haley did too. For three generations of our family, the shop has been part of our everyday lives — and somewhere along the way, so many of our customers became part of our lives as well.
What an incredible honor it has been to serve this city.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people and building relationships that lasted for decades. Some of you trusted us as your florist for years and years, and then your children — and even your grandchildren — became our customers too. To be considered a trusted florist for so many Memphis families is something we will always cherish.
You allowed us to be part of some of the biggest moments in your lives. We celebrated weddings, new babies, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, proms and holidays with you. And during some of life’s hardest moments, you trusted us to help express your love when there simply weren’t words.
Those relationships are what we will miss most.
Memphis supported our family and Rachel’s Flower Shop for more than 60 years. You called us, walked through our doors, recommended us to friends, and came back to us year after year. There really aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are.
Now it is time for Rachel to enjoy a very well-deserved retirement — spending more time with her family and grandchildren, traveling, enjoying life, and doing some of the things that owning a business for all these years didn’t always leave time for.
While Rachel’s Flower Shop is no longer operating, we are fortunate to have many incredibly talented florists right here in Memphis. We would be happy to recommend some wonderful local florists to our longtime customers for their future floral needs.
To every customer, employee, friend, vendor and member of this community who has been part of our story — thank you.
