Volume and tone control, the tone control loses authority as the volume control is turned up. At full volume the tone control is out of circuit and has no effect.

One 12ax7 preamp for gain and tone stack loss.

Transformer phase inverter in place of the traditional 12ax7.

A pair of cathode biased EL-84s

13 watts output power with minimal distortion 24 watts maximum output.

8” Celestion speaker

Hand built in Memphis Tennessee.

I built this with the idea of being a “better champ” and it does beat a champ every time. It has the compression of a tube amp but still great bass response with the additional wattage. (Champs have about 5 watts)
