Well... It's that time of year, summer is near, spread that good cheer! But wait... the freezer, it's getting low on deer, the fridge... nothing but beer! It's ok though, have no fear. Wicked Good Baits is open and springtime fishing is here!

The water's so inviting, it's all very exciting. Soon both mosquitos and trout will be biting! Try overnighting, It's ironically enlightening, just watch out for that thunder and lightning!

It's never too early for bass, Just try a cast, it's a blast, spring bass fishing is first class! Don't wait up, time continues to pass, Get going now get the lead out your... Tackle box. (It's illegal you know)

We are now selling fresh chicken eggs, $3.00/doz. They are on the top shelf of our fancy new Pepsi cooler, above the bait. Regular customers should already know this, we've had them available since like June. I've neglected to make this post until now for the same reason I've yet to make a sign... I am lazy and notoriously terrible at self promotion.

The snow is melting, the birds are chirping, and the trout are biting. (well probably, I haven't got any yet) That means it's time to teach myself how to use Facebook yet again after another years worth of trivial updates. Oh yeah and we're open again for the 2023 open water fishing season! Better late than never.

Unfortunately due to rising costs of the worms, containers, bedding materials, and seemingly everything else under the sun, I also regretfully announce that we're going up on our prices. Trout Worms and Night Crawlers will now be $3.50/pack. There are still 12 crawlers or 24 worms to a pack respectively.

Well it may have snowed in the Katahdin region again today. So uh, yay for that... but it's still almost time for spring, I think. That being said it's almost time to get back to open water fishing, and as such Wicked Good Baits will have worms & crawlers available on site again soon, self-service 24/7 same as always. I'm aiming for the first week of April, I will be sure to post when we are officially open. (Or you'll notice when our giant green sign goes back up)

I also wanted to let our regular customers know that we will be moving our location yet again, sorry about that. (At least I've always kept it on the same street right?) Wicked Good Baits will be returning to my house at 2105 Medway Rd, Medway ME. where it was up until 2021. Bait will no longer be available at the Medway Redemption Center as that business has closed.

Currently Wicked Good Baits are also available at Knife's Edge Trading Post in Millinocket, and Rick's Market in East Millinocket, with more locations coming this year.

The long winter is finally coming to a close and life is slowly getting back to normal in Maine. birds are returning, lakes are thawing, trout are biting, everyone is wearing masks and gloves and rioting over toilet paper... Ok 2020 is far from normal but the fish don't know that!

The state may be closed, but we're open. We are already a self service business, and as far as I know worms can't transmit viruses to humans so come get yourself some wicked good bait and go enjoy some of the extra free time we have trying to land the big one!

Just to let everyone know we will be opening soon. We'll have night crawlers and trout worms available in the mini-fridge at our usual location. (My house at 2105 Medway Rd) 24 hr self service, just leave your money in the can same as always. Our crawlers are also still available at Knife's Edge Trading Post in Millinocket.

I also took over the Medway redemption center starting this year. (what a year to start a new business) Our plan was to move Wicked Good Baits to the redemption center entirely, and also adding live shiners and hopefully smelts and some basic tackle. Due to the state shutdown I'm unable to get my license and other paperwork straightened out to make the move, so until this is over we'll just be doing crawlers and worms from our usual location, just as in years past.

I'll try to be better about using social media in the future, (it's time to join the 21st century I suppose) and I'll be posting updates for both businesses here as they're available.
