Severe and Sudden Losses of Managed Honey Bees Across the Nation
"...recent losses well over 50% with a combined financial loss of over $139M."

As commercial beekeepers in the USA inspect their bees after winter, to transport over 90% of the nation’s managed honey bees to pollinate California almonds, they are discovering alarming colony losses. These losses are severe, broad, and may impact food security through inadequate pollination services. Survey results are still accumulating, but information gathered from 234 beekeepers found average recent losses well over 50%, with a combined financial loss of over $139M. Combined with losses during other times of year, this additional loss puts many beekeepers at a loss rate of 70%-100% over the past 12 months.

Root Candles is hiring! We are currently looking for a Picker/Packer. Please see details below!

Performs tasks necessary to provide everyday production support to Medina Shipping Warehouse facility. Job task include picking orders using warehouse software and pick carts. Packing orders and shipping orders utilizing shipping software. Picker/packer must be self-motivated to keep up with the fast pace environment of the department. May also be required to assist with special projects associated with the production and shipping of product as needed.

Picker/Packer is responsible for keeping work area neat and clean. Must work well in a team environment

Work experience requirements:

• Must be able to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change

• Must have strong PC Skills with good working knowledge of TGI and Microsoft Excel

• Valid Ohio Driver’s License

• Strong decision making and communication skills

• Independent and self-starting

• Ability to work weekends and weekday overtime

• Must be able to lift items up to 70 pounds

• Must be able to work in a team environment

Education Requirements:
High School diploma or G.E.D.
