To all of Cody’s followers on JCT Woodshop, I am heartbroken to announce Cody’s passing on Saturday, October 9th.

Cody started woodworking only a few short years ago. He was dedicated to mastering his craft and learned everything he could from other woodworkers, YouTube videos, and classes. He spent hours in the shop learning how to make live edge tables, pour epoxy perfectly without bubbles, and designing charcuterie boards.

He turned our garage into a woodshop, building a custom work station for his saw and planer. He would come into the house so excited about a piece he just created, leaving a trail of sawdust—or “man glitter” as he called it—behind. Cody was the most generous person, donating boards to fundraisers and charities, and raffling off boards to raise money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

For those who never met Cody in person, he was kind, loving, silly, creative, and wonderful. If anyone would like to attend, I will share details about funeral services in the comments.

If you had an open order with Cody, please send a message to JCT Woodshop and I will respond in the next few weeks. His inventory will be closed for now—no new sales.

Please remember him always. Fire up those saws and planers one last time for my guy.

We got coasters for days! These epoxy beauties are made with Pro Marine Supplies and . The colors pops nicely next to the dark gabon ebony wood and this Tired Hands Brewing Company lush nitro chocolate vanilla stout.

Finally back in the shop! Just wrapped up my first attempt at a chaos board and coaster set. This board tries to escape any idea of a pattern and contains at least 16 different types of woods from Hearne Hardwoods Inc. ! It’s design pairs perfectly with the can art for Evernacht black lager by Vault Brewing Co.

One more board to donate this week. This one was made specially for the Wit You Against Childhood Cancer 100 mile bike ride on 9/25. This board will be part of a basket raffle at the event.

Wit You exists to support families who have a child with cancer and to support the organizations that know all the right things to do and say. You can learn more about Wit You and the 100 mile ride from Philadelphia to Lancaster by going to their site at https://www.wityou.org.

The board is made of walnut and strips of hard maple. The Wit You logo is made with Incredible Solutions deep pour epoxy and Blackdiamondpigments pigment.

This butterfly board was specially made for the second annual Hope For Hallie golf outing. Hope for Hallie is a non-profit organization dedicated to removing the stigma surrounding mental health and providing resources to children and families coping with mental illness.

The outing will be held on Monday 9/27. You can golf and attend dinner, or if you golf like me you can just attend dinner! 😂 The event will include cocktail hour, an auction, and a raffle.

JCT Woodshop is proud to donate a raffle basket with local treats, wine, and this custom board. We’ll also include a 320 Market Cafe Media gift card so you can make this charcuterie experience your very own.

JCT Wood Shop may be on vacation, but we had just enough time to knock out a quick board for some beach snacks. Made of holly, wenge, padauk, purple heart, cherry, and yellow heart, this surf board-shaped snack board is perfect for vacation treats and pairs perfectly with Dogfishhead Brewery sea quench! We thought it could use a little extra finish sanding though (insert drum beat).

Pretty excited to finally share this board. This is a game called Kamisado (don’t ask me how to play) and is an 8x8 board comprised of 7 different colors. The blue green and pink squares and piece are made of and .the other squares and pieces are made of wood from .

Finally a new board, and a sharp one at that! With an offset pattern, this end grain board is made of 9 different woods all from Hearne Hardwoods Inc. It pairs nicely with this Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company Philly Pucker sour ale on a hot day like today.
