A new study in the USA found mushroom consumers had 16% less risk of dying—from any cause—during the 20 years they were followed up in the study. The news is even better for vegans who swapped out one serving daily of red meat for : they had a stunning 35% less risk of death in those 20 years. This directly translates into longer life. Mushrooms are packed with hard-to-get nutrients like beta-glucan, selenium, vitamin D2, bioactive peptides, glutathione and ergothioneine.
