You can find me at Melville Trading Company at 137 West Clay St. Looking back over my lifetime, I realize that I have enjoyed being a “picker” most of my life. I’ve lived in many places (California, Oregon, Montana, Arizona, Idaho, New Jersey, Massachusetts and North Carolina) so when it came to furnishing our home, I had no trouble finding those things that make a house a home. I love experiencin
g that magic feeling that comes when I pick something truly amazing. Creating an ambiance that makes you feel warm and cozy when you enter ones home has been my motivation. There is something to be said about family pictures on the wall in well worn frames, lots of books on the shelf, vintage cups and saucers in the cupboard, or that old hooked rug in the hallway that you found in someone’s grandmother’s attic. You can always go out and purchase something new from a store, but it is a little harder to find that one treasure that has been in someone’s family for years and years and now they want to sell it to you, with a story attached to it as well! The best thing about that purchase is that item is one of a kind. I promise that if you visit my site, you will find just that, one of a kind treasures just waiting to be taken home and put to use once more. It is the ultimate recycling of that treasure that makes it so worthwhile. I hope that you will visit my site, enjoy some incredible stories of “picking” and find something to enhance your own special space.
