MACK Artisian Guild Spotlight on Kevin Dehlinger

This month we want to celebrate Kevin Dehlinger’s creative artistry.
Kevin grew up enjoying working with his dad in their workshop creating amazing pieces of wooden pieces, functional and always artistic. Kevin continues his love of woodworking today once again creating beautiful pieces of functional art, many of which he incorporates resin. Some of Kevin’s beautiful pieces can be found featured in the McCormick Artisian’s Guild Gift Shop in downtown McCormick next to Thompson’s Hardware.
Kevin has something for everyone. If you enjoy entertaining, he has beautiful Charchuterie boards perfect for any event. For those Nature lovers, Kevin creates beautiful River Tables perfect for bringing the Savannah river in to your home.

Welcome Diane Brierley, McCormick’s Artisan Guild's newest artisian member. Diane loves all shapes textures and colors of glass. After moving to South Carolina in 1991, she took several classes at a glass studio in Greenville, South Carolina. For years, she worked on traditional stained glass pieces and as time went on, she started doing stained glass mosaic, stepping stones, she even owned her own cement mixer and little red truck.
After several more classes at the John C. Campbell school in North Carolina as well as classes in Sarasota, Florida, she became skilled at lamp work.
Lampwork glass (or flameworking) is a technique where artists use a torch to melt and shape glass rods or tubes into intricate, hand-crafted objects like beads, jewelry, and small sculptures.
Originally fueled by oil lamps, modern lampworking utilizes propane-oxygen torches to reach temperatures exceeding 1,200 F in order to manipulate the molten glass. Each bead is individually made and no two are exactly alike.
Diane continues to hone her lamp working skills, as well as continuing with mosaics. Diane says that her happy place is at the Torch, melting glass and dreaming of new creations.

Welcome Diane Brierley to the MACK Artisians' Guild Gift Shop.
Diane Brierley is the McCormick Artisan Guild's newest Gift Shop member, bringing a vibrant passion for glass art to the community. Her journey with glass began after relocating to South Carolina in 1991, where she immersed herself in numerous classes at a glass studio in Greenville. Over the years, Diane has mastered the creation of traditional stained glass pieces, and her artistic repertoire expanded to include stained glass mosaics and stepping stones. At one point, she even owned her own cement mixer and a little red truck to facilitate her creative pursuits.

Mastering the Art of Lampworking
Diane's artistic journey took a significant turn as she pursued further education at the John C. Campbell School in North Carolina and took classes in Sarasota, Florida. This week, Suzanne Simoneau instructed a group on creating gorgeous gourd creations. Suzanne is an avid member of the MACK and has been instructing classes in gourd art for over 10 years.
