I wanted to share with you a quick testimony that brought our hearts so much joy. ❤️🙌

Yesterday our son-in-law, Jonathan, shared with us...that his father ran into a man that we brought food to...that had been living on the streets.

Once a week, Enrique would go with a group of young people at night to feed and talk with the homeless. Jonathan was part of the group. It was always such a special time to meet new people and hear their stories. They would bring them coffee and a sandwich, sometimes a warm blanket too. It opened up doors to share about Jesus.

They met with this man many times and continued to pray for him. We lost contact with him and didn't know what had happened. Yesterday Jonathan told us he is clean and has a home. 🙌
He sent us a picture of him and he looked so happy!!

You never know what may happen when you show someone love. Jesus continues to work. He never stops. He hears our prayers. Isn't it wonderful to know that even when we can't do a thing....He can! He is working...even when we can't see. Sometimes we may wonder if what we do is enough but what God does is SO much better!! All glory belongs to Him!
Jonathan sent us this verse.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭58‬ ‭

We are very proud of our son-in-law, Jonathan! He is a pastor of a small church and a wonderful husband to our daughter Dani. He is such a good father to our dear grandson Ian. He and Dani serve in the church and in the community, where there are many needs. They also serve on the school board and Dani is a teacher. They are doing a wonderful work!! So many of you loved and supported Dani through the years. And have heard her testimony.
How great is our God!! Keep believing. Keep trusting...God is always at work!! ❤️🙌

It was a work day today. 💪🏼🏠 There is always so much to do here on the farm! We were up early and had lots of sun ☀️☀️before the rain came in. Enrique and Max have been working so hard to get things looking good! We were grateful to have help from a man who cares for 28 horses. He came and took loads of grass for all the animals. He comes again tomorrow. Yay! What a blessing!

When I was facing some hard situations with children...a pastor and dear friend of ours said to me, "Every parent needs people cheering them on!" I have never forgotten that!

One of my favorite things to do...is to encourage parents...especially parents that have adopted or fostered children. I am grateful that doors have opened up for me to share with others.

Yesterday I talked with one of the mothers that adopted one of our foster children.
It was wonderful, to not only hear how the child was doing...but to be able to encourage and love on the mother too.

Adoption is wonderful and challenging at the same time. And if you are a parent, you know there are times...when you just don't know what to do.🤷‍♀️

Having a community of people around you, to walk with you, to cheer you on....is SO important!

When we first started receiving children in our home, 27 years ago😳, Enrique and I were pretty much on our own. But I am so grateful for the organization that we partnered with that has given us love and support. It made a huge difference.

Working with children that have been through great traumas is about continually showing up, never giving up and clinging to Jesus.

I have learned and grown so much from each child. Not knowing what to do and running out of strength...makes us run to the Father....the only one...who does know...and can give us rest. I have learned how to love better and how to trust God more.

We are grateful to have friends that have walked with us for many years...who have continually supported us and loved us.
Where would we be without you?! Thank you for your friendship. It means more than words can express.🥹❤️

We are continuing to raise money to get bags of rice and things needed for Enrique's trip, coming up soon, to the island Caballo. We want to thank our dear friends who have given to help the families on the island!! This means so much! ❤️🙌

We are very grateful that last week we were able to get Enrique's car fixed!! Both of our cars have been in need of lots of repairs.

This week will be a busy week and we would ask for your prayers that the Lord will supply every need!! We appreciate you standing with us!!

This is a picture of our newly paved road! It goes all the way to our home!! Yay!🙌
We have waited for over 15 years for it to be paved. Going up on muddy, rocky roads was a challenge (many of you will remember) and we got flat tires often, so we are very grateful!! 🙌

We are getting things ready to go and help families on the island Caballo. We will be taking bags of rice. 8 kilos of rice cost around $15. We want to take as many bags as we can. The goal is 125 bags. There are so many families with little ones that would be so grateful! Rice is a treat for them!

Hi Friends!
My dad used to say, "People don't care what you know, until they know that you care." Isn't that the truth!
We are getting ready for another trip to the Island Caballo. This time we will be taking as many, big bags of rice, as we can! (and some other much needed items) The people on the island and surrounding islands, have a very hard time getting basic things and they have asked for rice. They live off of whatever they catch in the ocean, so getting a bag of rice is such a treat! (And can help to fill up a hungry tummy too!)
There will be lots of opportunities to share about Jesus! How exciting! God opened up many doors on the last trip and we are excited to see what He has next!! ❤️🙌
Enrique will be leaving in just about 2 weeks so we will be working hard to get what is needed.

Every day there is a chance to meet someone new. If you want to help or reach out to someone...well you don't have to go far. There's the guy helping to park cars. There's mamas begging with their babies on the street corner. There are older women selling flowers or baked goods. Their is a man who goes up and down the street on his wheel chair, just looking for something to get him through the day.

For many years we have helped needy families by giving them a food box. When you give a food box to someone...it doesn't just help with hunger...it does SO much more!!

May and Max are part of our family and they have taken a great interest in helping people they meet on the street. People who are hungry, people facing great challenges. They have taken the time to get to know their stories....to listen to them. Recently they sat down with a man who is a drug addict. He sits on the corner almost everyday not too far from our home.

May said, "God put it in our hearts to stop and talk to him and bless him with a food box. He kept telling us that he wasn't a good person, and we probably wouldn't want to talk to him. It reminded me of how many times we believe that our mistakes or our past defines us and makes us unworthy to receive Gods love."

He was so surprised when they stopped to talk to him! When they sat beside him!
When they told him they loved him and God did too!

Both May and Max have a wonderful testimony of what the Lord is doing in their lives. They were both baptized last year. Being able to love on others and give out a food box has brought them so much joy. When we give to others it not only changes them but it changes us too!!

May and Max would like to continue giving out food boxes to the families we love and walk with (this is a tremendous help to us) but they also want to reach out to new people. So many people need to know that they are loved.

Enrique made it back safely and we are so glad he is home. Thank you for your love and prayers for him and our family!

It was quite a trip! Enrique learned so much and his heart was touched by the way the people live there. They were able to deliver food door to door. Pray with and encourage the people there. (so many beautiful stories)

The people live without running water and electricity. The church has a generator so that is a great help in the community.
The people wait for a boat to arrive every other day bringing bottles of water. Water to shower with, water to wash with, water to cook and clean vegetables with. Each night Enrique walked out to the ocean to get buckets of water for the toilet. This is what families do. Can you imagine?

There is much to share but we wanted to thank you for your love and support! Thank you for making it possible to go! So many people need to hear about Jesus! So many people need to know someone cares!

There will be more trips and more trips to this island are being planned. There is much to be done. Many ways we can help and reach out to the community there.

Thank you for your prayers for my husband Enrique. He and the team made it safely to the island.🙌 It is always an adventure to get there.

Last night Enrique spoke at a church and was asked to speak to all the children that came too. For the last month Enrique has been studying Joseph in the bible. He has been so happy sharing with me all the different things the Lord has put on his heart. So Enrique was excited, when the day before the trip, the pastor asked if he could share on Joseph.❤️Isn't it wonderful how the Lord does that! He prepares us before we go!!

There isn't much internet where Enrique is so we can't stay in touch much but I know the Lord is at work!

We would ask for your prayers for my dear husband Enrique. He will be going to an Island here in Costa Rica, in the wee hours of the morning. We are excited to see all the Lord is going to do! There are many needs. Please pray for their safety. It is a bit of a challenge to get there.🥹
The team will be going to help and encourage the people in the community there. We have been rushing around the last few days getting food and much needed things for the trip.
Please pray for us here at home while he is away. Pray for Enrique to have peace as he goes and all needs will be covered.

What a blessing to be able to go and share the Love of Jesus! So many people need to hear about Him!!!
