No Ordinary Man

Jesus' might and divine power set Him apart from any other human who has ever lived. Jesus Christ is the only perfect man, who died to give eternal life to those who believe in Him. Jesus Christ is the only man who owned a whole universe but lived in poverty for the benefit of others. Jesus Christ is the only man who owned all the iron ore of the world but allowed His hands and His feet to be pierced with iron nails in order that He might save others. Jesus Christ is the only man who made all the trees of the forest and yet allowed Himself to hang on one of those trees for the redemption of all who call on His name.

How amazing is our all-powerful God! But what's more amazing is that the supernatural power that resurrected Jesus from the dead is the same power that can transform our lives on a daily basis. When we try to solve our problems using our own strength, we will fail. But Christ's power can perform miracles in our hearts and our circumstances.

Lord our God, thank you for bringing us into glorious day. Let the rays of your grace, the grace of Jesus Christ, shine into our hearts so that we are truly born of the Spirit and serve you as your children at all times, also when hard days come. Through your might and your revelation pry us loose from all earthly things. Pry us loose from worries and from pleasures. We are your children, O Lord God. We come before you, our Father in heaven, and you will accept us so that we may be a people who prepare the way for you. May all the words you speak be a blessing to us and make us joyful in expectation for the day of Jesus Christ, which has begun in power and glory and will bring power and glory when all is fulfilled according to your merciful and perfect decree. O God, your children entreat you, "Accept us. Hear us. Set the light aflame in our hearts for the coming of your great day!" Amen 🙏.

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. - Proverbs 3:9‭-‬10

Today's Scripture passage is a wonderful picture of abundance and overflow. The kingdom of God does not work like the kingdom of this world. In God's kingdom, it is more blessed to give than receive. In His kingdom, we can never out give the most generous person in the universe for God loves to pour back into us far more than we could possibly give to Him.

Why does God want us to give Him of our firstfruits? Does God need our money? Absolutely not! The Bible says that the entire earth is the Lord's and all that is in it. God has no need of our resources whatsoever. What our God and Father longs for more than anything else is our heart ...and Jesus told us that where our treasure is, there will our heart be also (Matthew 6:21).

When we honor God with the very first and best of what our hands have created, we are acknowledging that He is the source of all our blessing. When we choose to trust in His present and future supply of all our needs by giving to Him of our firstfruits, I believe that it blesses His heart and moves Him to provide for us even more.

It is wonderful to live in a kingdom where we don't have to provide for ourselves, for we have a Father in heaven who knows all our needs and He delights to give us His kingdom! - 365 Promises daily devotional. Amen 🙏
