Flea beetles are officially waking up and looking for lunch in emerging canola fields. Because they love warm, dry weather, they can defoliate a seedling faster than you think.

Check your emerging canola for that classic "shot-hole" leaf damage. If you hit 25% defoliation and the beetles are still hungry, it's time to talk management options.
Don't rely solely on seed treatments if pressure is intenseā€”get out there and scout regularly during these early weeks!

Congratulations to the 2026 Scheresky Ag Service $1000 scholarship winners! This year we have two outstanding scholarship recipients, Maycie Talbott, graduating from Max High School, and Hattie Heer, graduating from South Prairie High School. These ladies excelled academically, were leaders on their extracurricular teams, and gave back to their communities through service and entrepreneurship.
