After weeks of planning, shopping, organizing, and getting everything ready, Step Into Success happens TOMORROW morning!

This event is a perfect example of what can happen when local businesses are supported and community organizations come together to serve.

Tomorrow, we are prepared to help 200 Marshall County children head back to school with:

NO PRE-SIGN-UP IS REQUIRED!

REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE SHOES

• Must be on some form of government assistance — SNAP, WIC, HUD, FIP, DHS letter, or school counselor referral
• Must bring proof of each child — birth certificate, school ID, medical insurance card, etc.
• Child must live in your household and be financially supported by you
• One pair of shoes per child
• No duplicate check-ins for the same child

Shoes, backpacks, and supplies will be available while supplies last.

And we really want everyone to understand how something like this becomes possible.

Thrifty Relief is OPEN this weekend!

Come shop with us TODAY, Friday August 14th, from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM at 2901 South Center Street in Marshalltown, behind Arona Home Essentials.

We will also be open Saturday, August 15th, but we'll be getting a little bit of a late start! Our volunteers will be busy Saturday morning helping with our Step Into Success Back-to-School Event, where we'll be helping local kids get ready for the new school year with brand-new shoes, backpacks, and school supplies.

Because of the event, Thrifty Relief will most likely open between 11:00 AM and noon on Saturday and will remain open until 4:00 PM. We'll post an update as soon as the doors are open!

The store continues to have new items coming in, so stop by, look around, and see what you can find. Every purchase at Thrifty Relief helps us continue putting money right back into projects that serve families in our community.

We are officially just a few days away, and seeing everything come together has us thinking about why this event is possible in the first place.

Look at this! ❤️

Today was just one of many shopping trips as we continue preparing for our Step Into Success Back-to-School Shoe Giveaway, and we couldn't be more excited!

Cart after cart, we're filling them with notebooks, folders, binders, pencils, crayons, pencil boxes, and so much more. Before long, all of these supplies will be in the hands of local students as they head back to school.

The best part? This is only possible because of you.
Every time you shop at Thrifty Relief or donate items to our store, you're doing more than supporting a thrift store—you're investing in Marshall County families. Every purchase helps us turn generosity into action, and these photos are proof of that.

Something BIG has arrived at Thrifty Relief!

We'll be open Friday, July 31st and Saturday, August 1st from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 2901 South Center Street in Marshalltown (behind Arona Home Essentials).

This week we received a huge shipment of brand-new merchandise, and we've been busy getting it out on the sales floor. You'll find:
