If you've shopped with us before you've probably noticed that we are located right next door to a lovely little art gallery. Marci Nadler is one of the artists there and I just had to share a picture of her beautiful zinnias painting which you can see displayed from her shop window - it's amazing!! Marci is the best neighbor - if you don't see her in her gallery she might be right next door helping out in our shop. She has work for sale in her gallery and is also happy to do commissions.

If you've shopped with us before you probably know that our shop is run by volunteers and that the money we make in the shop goes towards the care and saving of our shelter animals. We have an amazing team of volunteers who enjoy working retail and love giving back to support the animals. If you or someone you know would enjoy interacting with customers and other volunteers, is comfortable taking sales, and is available to help out a couple Saturdays a month we would love to talk to you! If you are interested please email Kim at [email protected].

We receive so many wonderful and generous donations for our Resale Boutique for which we are very grateful. Our shop is a great source of income for our shelter. But we can not sell old computers, stereos, printers, gaming equipment, baby items, exercise or medical equipment. We try to re-donate these items when possible but it takes a lot of time and resources and unfortunately sometimes they just end up in the trash. We are more than happy to take home and garden decor, non-upholstered furniture, kitchen items, seasonal clothing, riding apparel, shoes, jewelry, and purses. You may bring items directly to our shop Tues-Sat 11-4. If you have large items or will need help unloading please call us first on our main number 540-364-3272 to make arrangements. Thank you for your support!!

We currently have this dress in a size 10 in our shop. It's a Mikaela Bridal Style 2170. I used these pictures from the internet because the ones I took did not do this beautiful gown justice. The dress is pre-owned and was generously donated by one of our supporters who is still happily married but was downsizing and moving. We are selling it for $225. Stop in if you'd like to see it.

The shop initially opened as Middleburg Humane Thrift Shop in 1997 in Middleburg, Virginia. In 2018, MHF decided to relocate the store to Marshall, VA to be closer to our new shelter. Our name was changed to describe better the unique items we sell; the Middleburg Humane Foundation Resale Boutique. The boutique is run entirely by a select group of hardworking and devoted volunteers. 100% of the proceeds support MHF shelter operations.
Mission Statement:
We at MHF believe that all animals, both large and small, have the right to safe and sanitary living conditions, protection from abuse and neglect, and to live their lives in an environment free from pain and fear.
MHF believes that pets and people belong together; that financial circumstances alone are not reliable indicators of the capacity to love and care for a companion animal, and that strong bonds between people and pets make for stronger communities. We’ve also learned that there are a variety of challenging circumstances that can cause pets to lose their homes. Poverty, short-term emergencies, illness, lack of affordable, accessible vet care, and a shortage of pet-friendly housing can conspire to force even the most devoted pet owner to relinquish a beloved pet to a local shelter or rescue group.
MHF plays a critical role in our surrounding counties by providing refuge, protection, and care for animals that truly need it. Because funding for animal sheltering is often inadequate to meet the demand placed on us, it’s especially important that we focus our efforts on the animals most in need of our services.
