This is a great time to check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Vacuum them to remove dust, replace batteries and test to be sure they are in working order. This small effort could make all the difference in an emergency.

Recovery of winter injury in turf has been slower than usual in many areas. The primary reason is that soil temperatures are still relatively cool for this time of year. Once soil temperatures rise above 55-60 degrees, recovery and growth should improve.

Warmer temperatures are causing landscape plant leaf buds to swell - Dormant oil treatments for should be applied ASAP.

Soil Temperatures are still to cool to consider lawn seeding - seed will not germinate until soil temperatures have exceeded 50-55 degrees F.
