My entire life revolves around: recreate / reinvent / reconstruct / recycle / reuse... if it’s old... I love it... if it’s broken... I “fix” it. I love gathering materials for my THINK boxes and mixed media dolls and balls (I love balls!)

I create found object art and jewelry. I’m currently working with beads and fiber and fabric. I consider myself a mixed media fiber artist = one day “this” the next day “that”. Currently, I love working with vintage fabrics harvested from worn out rag rugs. I entertain myself with assemblages involving vintage photographs and jewelry. I don’t know what I will do tomorrow. i hope - without the responsibility of running a chocolate shop for the past 17 years ---- i will have time and energy to create again. I hope - with time on my hands - I’ll use my hands more. I’m retired = I look forward to this new adventure.

My first Salida Mend It Monday is in the books. I repaired a waistband on a pair of jeans and three tears in a pretty black skirt

I brought a pair of leather lederhosen home with me to do some intense repair at a slower pace. I have no doubt that my BEAST can handle the job.

When I was done… my husband and I had a scoop of ice cream by the river.

Life is Good.

Carla & Sue were the high bidders winners of my “Flare & Repair” Workshop at the The Alliance - Empowering individuals beyond domestic and sexual violence fundraiser in April.

Today… I had the pleasure of teaching them how to make flare jeans at my house. Quick Learners! We had so much fun!

👖🪡🧵😃 THIS… plus I made two new friends. ✔️ (Something GOOD that happens by chance!) Truth? When I saw them at The Denim & Chocolate Event… I knew I needed to know them better. ☺️

CURIOUS? Yes… yes I was. I glanced twice at this $5.00 box at the Buena Vista ReSTORE before I picked it up and opened up the lid. Hmmmmmmm… A lot of little white plastic birds and painted “things” but what REALLY caught my eye was the metal pieces that filled one of the compartments.

😃 Over forty assorted little brass animals and cupids and woman figures. EEP! They were obviously used to make the plaster of paris moulds.

I’m not exactly sure what I will do with them… but I know that they are MINE now and I’m sure I’ll find something to do with them in my studio.

I believe every tree has its own story, just as each of us does.

She is absolutely perfect, and the dress my friend G*e Sharp-Richardson created for our project is simply beautiful. Together, they made this magical moment come to life.
