Over the past week, we’ve been collaborating with our partners at McDowell Access to Care and Health and West Marion Inc. to gather essential supplies and deliver them directly to those in need. From supplying distribution sites to backpacking to folks who can't make it out of their homes, we are committed to serving our community by any means possible.

To the residents of McDowell County and WNC, know that we stand with you now and always. While our community is facing significant challenges, we are resilient—and together, we are even stronger.

We’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support from those wanting to lend a hand. If you're looking to help, here’s how you can make a difference.

Please consider donating. Our organizations have been dedicated to this community for years and will continue to serve long after national aid has departed. The recovery from Helene is a marathon, not a sprint, and we are committed to addressing the evolving needs of our community. Your contributions to local organizations will directly support our affected neighbors, ensuring assistance continues long after the headlines fade.

Thank you for standing with us.

To see the damage caused by Helene has been heart breaking, to say the least. We want to help. It has been absolutely heartwarming to see so many people and states come to assist with everything from water to rescue. We have plenty of clothing, undergarments and shoes. Although most of our clothing is donated and in great condition, we also have new with tags, which may help you feel a little refreshed after such trauma. Most of our undergarments are new, as well. If you were forced from your home or lost clothing due to Helene, this is for you, we would love to help supply you with clothing at no cost. It is very important to us that this offer is utilized in honesty and good faith. What clothing we do have needs to go to those in need, and that is our goal. Please share this post and ask others to share, as well. The more people it reaches, the higher the chance it reaches those who need it. As of tonight, Friday October 4th, we are still without power but will open from 11-4 tomorrow (Saturday) and function via natural light, so please stop in and let us know if we can help. Our location: 2354 Hwy 221 N. Business, Marion, N.C., or Google The Community Thrift Store for directions. We will be short on time, so please understand we may not be able to answer messages in a timely fashion. Thank you and please be safe and considerate of others and remember to share this post.
