The Marion Business Builders Chapter of Business Network International (BNI) gathered on March 31 to celebrate DD Awareness Month!

The group members were decked out in orange for the weekly meeting at the Marion Public Library. The Marion Business Builders Chapter of BNI includes representatives from more than 20 Marion area businesses and organizations.

🍀 During the week of St. Patrick’s Day (March 16-21), kids who visit The Explore-It-Torium can look for the leprechaun’s gold coins scattered all throughout the building! When you find a coin, you can trade it for a special prize! It’s that easy! 🪙🪙🪙🪙

🍀 The Explore-It-Torium is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

🍀 Admission is $6 per person. We’re located at 244 S. Main St. in Downtown Marion. Ask about buying a membership while you’re here.

Thanks to our partners in helping people at the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities for joining with us today to celebrate DD Awareness Month.

We want to recognize all the fine service and support administrators and other county board staff who work hand in hand with MARCA Industries and other providers to serve the needs of people with developmental disabilities here in Marion County. It is truly a labor of love!

MARCA Industries and the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities have been partners in helping people since 1967, when the State of Ohio mandated the creation of county boards of developmental disabilities.

MARCA was once part of the county board, but became a separate, private, nonprofit organization in 2017 following federal mandates issued by the Centers of Medicaid and Medicare that prevented county boards from providing direct services (adult day programs, community integration, transportation). MARCA and other private providers now offer those services.

Please continue to throughout the rest of March to recognize and celebrate DD Awareness Month!
