Cesar Chavez and Nate Carlson each have over 20 years of experience fishing saltwater and freshwater for a range of species -- both in California and Mexican waters -- from shore, float tubes, kayaks, party boats and their private skiffs. When Cesar is not fishing on his 22-foot Davis Cortez, Killer Instinct, he is taking friends and clients out on their skiffs and yachts, instructing them on loca
l fishing -- from bass and halibut to yellowtail and white sea bass -- and putting them on the hot local bites. Nate spends his fishing time pounding the bays and shorelines on his 17-foot Whaler, Outrage, for spotted bay bass, sand bass and calico bass. For the past five years, Cesar and Nate have been competing in the SWBA Tournament Series as “Team Killer Instinct.” They focus on finding fishing opportunities year round in their local waters and adapting their gear and techniques for successful fishing.
