The Bee Barn just received some of the new Varroa Check cO2 injectors. The new model as been redesigned for easier use.
These are used to put bees to sleep that are being sampled for varroa. The CO2 puts the bees and Varroa mites to sleep. So you aren’t killing 300 bees to check your colonies for varroa mite load. After sampling you can return your anesthetized bees back into their hives.
Studies have shown that this method is close to effectiveness as an alcohol wash, which kills your bees.
