🐐 Final (and favorite) Christmas Tree Tip — Donate to Local Goat Farms!

If you've got a goat farm nearby, your old Christmas tree might be a goat’s favorite treat! 🐐🎄

Many goat owners and small livestock farms love letting goats graze on pine needles and branches.

✨ Before you donate:
• Remove lights, tinsel, wires, nails, and stands
• Ask the farmer first — not all livestock should eat pine, but goats usually enjoy them safely supervised!

Sharing your tree this way brings a creative, fun twist to reuse!

If you know of any local farms that would enjoy, tag them below to share with others looking to dispose! 👇

🐟 Christmas Tree Tip — Fish Habitat in Ponds

Did you know old Christmas trees can benefit wildlife too? 🌲🐟

Trees placed in ponds or lakes can create natural fish habitat, improving aquatic ecosystems:
• Branches provide structure for fish to hide and feed
• They promote algae growth, which attracts small pond organisms
• Fallen needles eventually enrich the water like natural plant matter

🎄✨ Before placing a tree, make sure you:
• Remove all decorations, tinsel, lights, wires, and stands
• Secure them so they don’t drift away
You can even tie several trees together for larger habitat structures!

It’s a simple way to help fish and pond life thrive!

🌱 Christmas Tree Tip — Mulch Your Garden Beds

Here’s a smart way to use leftover branches: turn them into mulch for your perennial garden beds! 🌿

Pine branches make excellent mulch because:
• They help insulate soil and protect roots during winter freeze/thaw cycles
• They break down slowly, adding organic matter over time
• They help prevent frost heaving, which can disturb plant roots

🎄✨ Simply cut or shred the branches and spread a layer around your beds (avoid touching the plant crowns directly). Over time the needles will gently break down and feed your soil.

🎄 Christmas Tree Tip: — Firewood 🔥

Here’s a cozy way to repurpose your tree: use the trunk for firewood (after it’s fully dried and seasoned).

🌲✨ Fresh-cut Christmas trees contain a lot of moisture, so they don’t burn well right away. But once your tree has completely dried out and been split/seasoned (maybe even for several months), the sturdy trunk makes great firewood for outdoor firepits or wood stoves.

🔥 Tip: Stack your tree trunk pieces off the ground in a dry area so they season properly.
❗ Important: Never burn pine branches or needles indoors — they can spark and create creosote buildup.

Christmas Tree Tip — Composting

Wondering what to do with all those needles and small branches? Composting is a great option! 🌲♻️

Christmas tree needles and small twigs are considered “brown” material — excellent for compost piles because they add carbon and help balance nitrogen-rich kitchen scraps.

🔄 Tip:
• Chop needles and small branches into smaller pieces
• Add them in thin layers to your compost
• Mix well with greens (kitchen scraps, grass clippings) to speed decomposition

Over time, you’ll have rich compost ready for your garden — a beautiful cycle of seasonal renewal!

Tree season may be over, but the memories are still fresh! 🎄❤️

As we start to pack things away and clean up the farm, we’re still so thankful for every family who came out, every tree that found a home, and every moment we got to share with you all this season.

Here’s a little recap and look back! 🎥

🌲 Christmas Tree Tip: Don’t Toss Those Needles Yet!

Before you say goodbye to your Christmas tree, save a handful of those pine needles! They can be repurposed into a simple, natural all-purpose cleaner that smells fresh and woodsy.

How to do it:
• Rinse a handful of pine needles
• Place them in a glass jar
• Cover completely with white vinegar
• Seal and let sit 2–3 weeks
• Strain, then dilute 1:1 with water in a spray bottle

Perfect for cleaning most hard surfaces (just avoid natural stone).

It’s an easy, sustainable way to give your tree one last purpose before composting. ♻️✨

Anyone else wait until the very last moment to pack up Christmas and take down the tree? 🙋‍♀️🎄
(Guilty over here, too.)

As we ease back into “real life,” we know a lot of trees are probably still standing tall in living rooms (and shedding needles) — and that’s okay. This week, we’ll be sharing a few simple, helpful tips for what to do with your Christmas tree whenever you're ready to tackle the teardown. 🌲✨

Today is our final day of tree season! 🎄❤️

From the first truckload of trees and late nights getting the farm & Santa shop ready… to full hearts, big smiles, and soaking in the joy of the season as a family — we wouldn’t trade a single moment.

Words truly can’t express how grateful we are for everyone who supported our small family farm these past several weeks. Running a business during the busiest (and most magical) time of year isn’t always easy, especially while trying to savor the season with little ones, but sharing it together made every moment feel worth it.

Thank you for shopping small, sharing traditions with us, and welcoming us into your holiday memories. We loved meeting so many new neighbors and can’t wait to spend the holidays cozied up with our family, and celebrating what this season is truly about.

From our family to yours — thank you for making this year so special! ❤️🎄

P.S. If there are still trees in our lot over the weekend, you’re welcome to stop by and grab one — we’ll be operating on the honor system. Otherwise, we wish you a blessed weekend! ❤️🎄
