FAQ Friday: YES, soup is now on the table as a cottage food!
1. Follow the rules for selling refrigerated food: https://texascottagefoodlaw.com/selling-refrigerated-foods/
2. Must be served hot (above 140 degrees F) or cold (below 40 degrees F).
3. Must leave your kitchen packaged and labeled. We're not turning our home kitchens into restaurants.
4. If you start with a stock or broth, it must be vegetarian. Consider vegetable broth, or we LOVE "Better than Bouillon" bases. https://amzn.to/4nMp7Ec
5. Remember that your soup cannot contain any of the excluded ingredients, including meat. If you're looking to add a salty-hearty-umami flavor, consider ingredients like sauteed mushrooms, onions, soy sauce, and smoked paprika, or leave your suggestions in the comments.
