There was lots of rolling, soapy water, creativity, and magic happening at Saturday’s Purse Wet Felting Class! 👜✨

Wet felting is a hands-on fiber art that uses wool, warm water, soap, and agitation to transform loose fibers into a sturdy felted fabric. Participants spent the afternoon carefully laying out wool, rolling, rubbing, patting, and shaping their projects as their purses began to take form.

One of the best parts of every class is seeing how each person's creativity shines through. Even when everyone starts with the same techniques, no two projects are alike!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, especially the trio that travelled from New York, and made it such a fun afternoon. I can't wait to see your finished purses.

We are honored and grateful to have received a Tourism Award of Excellence from Destination Mansfield-Richland County.

When we started Alpaca Meadows 24 years ago, we simply wanted to share our love of alpacas, fiber arts, and farm life with others. Over the years, what began as a small alpaca farm has grown into a destination where people can connect with animals, learn a new craft, enjoy a unique experience, and create lasting memories.

This recognition belongs not only to us, but to all of you who have supported Alpaca Meadows along the way. Whether you've visited the farm, taken an alpaca walk, attended a class, shopped in our Farm Store, purchased from us online, volunteered at an event, or shared our posts with friends and family, you have helped make this possible.

We are also honored to be recognized alongside several other outstanding tourism and hospitality businesses in Richland County.

Thank you to Destination Mansfield-Richland County for this award, and thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. We look forward to welcoming many more visitors—both new and returning—to Alpaca Meadows in the years ahead. 🦙❤️

Shearing Day at Alpaca Meadows 🐐✂️

Thank you to everyone that came out to watch the Angora goats get their spring haircuts! It’s always fascinating to see the transformation and to learn more about where beautiful mohair fiber comes from.

The goats may look a little smaller afterward, but they’re much more comfortable heading into the warmer weather ☀️ The freshly shorn fiber will now be sorted and prepared for spinning, felting, doll hair, art yarn, and other fiber art projects.

We love being able to share these behind-the-scenes farm experiences with visitors and help connect people to the fiber arts process from animal to finished creation.

What a fun afternoon at our Frog Needle Felting Class! 🐸💚

Everyone’s frogs turned out so unique and full of personality, and there were lots of smiles and laughs around the table as the projects came to life. It’s always amazing to see how differently each person interprets the same instructions, materials, and techniques.

A little burst of blue happiness on this rainy day! 💙

This whimsical needle felted blue bird was handcrafted one tiny poke at a time using Corriedale wool and stuffed with alpaca fiber from our alpacas here at Alpaca Meadows. Inspired by the cheerful bluebirds that brighten spring and summer days, this little bird is full of handmade charm and woodland personality.

At approximately 5 1/2 inches tall, it makes a sweet shelf sitter, thoughtful gift for bird lovers, or cozy addition to cottage and woodland decor.
