A 9-year-old boy saved his family when he discovered their house near Mannford was on fire early this morning. Cahill Griffin was up early and watching TV around 6:30 this morning while his mom (Julie), dad (Jimmy) and 5-year-old sister (Morgan) were still in bed. His aunt tells me Cahill heard a bathroom window bust and discovered the house was on fire. He rushed to wake up his family up and called 911. They all made it out safely and wanted to try and put it out when they got outside, but their water hoses were frozen… the flames destroyed their home in a matter of minutes. They lost EVERYTHING… made it out with only the clothes they were wearing. The community is already jumping in to try and help the family. An online fundraiser has been set up and clothing drop off points for the family have been set up at Phelps Market and Napa Auto Parts in Mannford.
Immediate needs are:
Socks, underwear, coats, toiletries, pajamas, and dog food
Morgan is a 7t, size 1 shoe.
Cahill wears 10/12 shirt, 12/14 in pants, size 5 shoe.
Julie wears 8-8.5 in shoes, medium shirt, large pants.
