Good morning! This weekend was a lot for my little family. My girl has decided to go off on an adventure, as a 19 year old should. So it’s just me.
I also have a family member in the hospital.
So, this week I may or may not be open every day and going forward, I’m going to go back to being open 5 days a week, Wednesday-Sunday for now.

This year Billy Bourke, the band my son Chaise plays bass in has opened for Chase Matthew & Niko Moon.

Tonight, they’re playing at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor - it started in the early 1970s as a European-style café/live-music spot. Originally it was heavily blues-oriented; later it expanded into the roughly 400-capacity club it became known as.

And the list of people who played there before—or around the time—they became huge is kind of ridiculous: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Matthews Band, Joan Baez, Bo Diddley, Sonic Youth, Tool, Jewel, John Mayer and a ton of others.

The Nirvana connection is especially fun. Soundgarden had played a sold-out show there and reportedly told their crowd to come back and see this band called Nirvana. Nirvana subsequently sold the place out, and Kurt Cobain later said the Blind Pig was a favorite venue.

Pretty cool. 😎

We will be closing at 3:00 today to go watch them.
