Evie Marques is named after my mother, Evelyn, because the original necklace is inspired by something I found in her things after she died. It has been more than 20 years since she passed, and my heart still aches for her. Every day. I’m lucky to have had her as long as I did, and I’m grateful for her love, laughter, guidance and inspiration. This day is filled with many emotions—I have so much love for my own two girls, but I have sadness, too. If today is hard for you, I see you. And for all those women who mother others in many different ways, I thank you.
