Island Speed Series Round 2 Results
Fast Laps, Close Racing and Championship Momentum at IAM‑RC Raceway
Round 2 of the Island Speed Series brought another exciting day of Mini‑Z racing to IAM‑RC Raceway on Sunday, August 9. Drivers competed across six classes, producing close battles, impressive lap times and several standout performances.
Thank you to every racer, family member and spectator who joined us. The series is only getting started, and there is still plenty of time to enter the competition!
Round 2 A‑Main Results
Mini‑Z 2500KV Hardbody
1. James Jean Pierre — 40 laps
2. Sejin Kim — 38 laps
3. Kris Hernandez — 38 laps
James Jean Pierre earned the TQ, captured the A‑Main victory and recorded the fastest 2500KV Hardbody lap of the day with an impressive 8.765 second run.
B‑Main Winner: Kris Hernandez
C‑Main Winner: Nathan Aversano
Open Mod
1. Denmark D — 39 laps
2. Jesse Castro — 38 laps
3. Kris Hernandez — 38 laps
Open Mod delivered one of the biggest stories of the round. After TQ James Jean Pierre retired early, Denmark D remained consistent and claimed the A‑Main victory.
Jesse Castro recorded the fastest Open Mod lap of the day at 8.103 seconds.
B‑Main Winner: Cohen Smith
Formula One
1. Sejin Kim — 36 laps
2. Denmark D — 35 laps
3. Mark T — 35 laps
Sejin Kim converted his TQ starting position into the Formula One victory. Denmark D recorded the class’s fastest lap with a 9.223 second run.
Kyosho Expert
1. Jordan Fournier — 32 laps
2. Martin Rauscher — 32 laps
3. Joshua Reininger — 32 laps
This was one of the closest races of the day, with all three podium finishers completing 32 laps. Jordan Fournier earned the TQ, took the victory and recorded the fastest lap at 10.615 seconds.
Kyosho Stock
1. Tito Gonzalez — 28 laps
2. Matt Dawson — 28 laps
3. Jason Kim — 27 laps
Tito Gonzalez earned the Stock A‑Main victory and recorded the class’s fastest lap at 12.255 seconds.
B‑Main Winner: Jason Kim
Kyosho Novice
1. Joshua Reininger — 24 laps
2. Cohen Smith — 23 laps
3. Jeremiah Smith — 23 laps
Joshua Reininger completed a dominant Novice performance, earning the TQ, taking the A‑Main victory and setting the fastest lap at 14.166 seconds.
