Spring is here!
Of course I had to make a bouquet to celebrate!
I have loved seeing all the signs of spring coming: the Lenten roses and the crocuses blooming, the hyacinths starting to show buds, everything is so exciting!
And of course, all the seeds I have started inside! Snapdragons, sweet peas, pincushion flowers, geum, and strawflowers to name a few of the many flowers I've started!

The store is now open! The spring subscriptions include four hand-tied bouquets during the spring season (Mar-May). Each beautiful bouquet may include tulips, phlox, peonies, daffodils, stock, and many other wonderful spring flowers. All locally grown in my garden!

I was able to arrange the flowers for a lovely rehearsal dinner this past weekend. The flowers looked beautiful in their simplicity, and were the perfect addition to the intimate Italian restaurant Bellissimo's. I was also able to set up their welcome party at Auld Shebeen, which created a dreamy atmosphere thanks to the combination of eucalyptus, baby's breath and candles.

The Trevi Fountain

This fountain is supposed to echo the origin of the aqueduct that supplies the water to the fountain. The sculptors created, in an artificial way, how rock looks naturally. I loved seeing the beautiful statues, and made a sketch of the main subject, Oceanus, while on my tour.

Seeing Trevi Fountain at night is a very different experience from seeing it during the day. During the day, the fountain is a bright white that adds to the monumental size. At night, the white rock is a little subdued, and becomes softer. There are also less people at night. I was able to go down next to the basin of the fountain, and my friends and I threw coins in, in the hopes of returning to Rome someday. Seeing the details of the fountain up close is stunning; it allowed me to fully realize the enormity of what the sculptors accomplished in carving rock to look like rock. It was such a beautiful experience.

I was so blessed to attend the Canonization Mass of Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis! It was so moving to hear the Formula of Canonization pronounced by Pope Leo XIV; I had the chills as they were read. What gifts God showers upon us.

We have a book called "The Complete Book of the Flower Fairies" by Cicely Mary Barker that has beautiful, magical illustrations of fairies with a flower and a corresponding poem. It's been around for years, and is a very well-loved book, and I always find myself going back to at some point.

I was looking at it the other day and saw that I grow many of the flowers featured in the illustrations. I thought, "Why not make your own illustrations and surround the pictures with flowers from my own garden"? I love watercolors, and haven’t done painting in a while, and it felt great to get back to them.

So here is the first one!
